While I was surfing in my RSS Feed Reader, I found this curious Buzz Marketing Campaign explained in François Zimerman’s Blog: it is a new product USB WINE.

USB Wine is a special USB device which allow users pour a glass of wine using their PC connected to Internet by a BroadBand connection, directly from the best french wineries.

As you can see watching this video, Usb Wine is obviously a joke: it is both a Buzz Marketing Campaign, a Mash Up of TV Advertising and Internet Advertising and a Viral Marketing Campaign. USB WINE is based both on Embedded video and a Web Site www.usbwine.com.

In this web site prospects are invited to test it on line. When you click on the Test it Button, the joke is explained and you are invited to register to 1jour1vin.com e-commerce website.

What are your opinion about this form of Mash Up?

It is interesting but at the end I had a bad feeling: it was like I received a Spam Email. I was curious about this USB DEVICE, and at the End there was the same old Form.

It has a bit of reminiscence of old TV Ad.

In my opinion it is a good Mashup of styles: there are many references to Teaser ad Campaign styles adapted in a web campaign.

It is a bit unusual (for me) to see jokes, Irony, sense of paradox in web campaigns. They usually are a bit denotative and measurable.

This form of advertising has a connotation of old style.
