I found this interesting furniture Shopping Mall, which uses a lot of 3D animation in order to create ambiances of products reading springwise.com web site and I decided to make a little analysis of its selling strategy.

mydeco Shopping mall

  • MyDeco.com has an interesting selling strategy: it shows first of all design ambiances of its pieces of furniture. These ambiances are made not by photos but by photorealistic 3D graphics.
  • Then people can buy products with an deep interaction with their on line avatars.

The innovative aspect of this paradigm is that people can play with the online avatar of products, then decide to buy the physical version of them.
What ar the plus of this strategy?

People can:

  • Interact with ambiances
  • Add pieces of furnitures to ambiances using price sliders .
  • enrich ambiances by adding 3D avatars of products.
  • Let customers or prospects create their own room plan on line
  • let prospects add tag to their product

The selling strategy is to create an immersive on line use of piece of furnitures. The actions people can do on line differs from from the ones they usually make in physical shopping mall.

In this way the two shopping experiences the on line and the off line one, are complementary and egalitarian and none of them is winning to the other.
