I found a very interesting blog from China. The author is Wei Cao, an Affiliate Marketing Specialist at DHgate.com. I immediately add Web Marketing Cafe’s RSS Feed to my reader.

Reading some of his posts, I read a very interesting analysis of the state of development of E-commerce in China: Wei Cao succeeded  to give an exhaustive idea of the rapid growth of e-marketing culture in China, the issues, and the opportunity involved.

Here a little excerpt of this very interesting analysis:

The Chinese e-commerce development has not got a long history. Most Chinese enterprises are just trying to copy the style of their western counterparts.

The quality of using the Internet to develop businesses, both domesticly and globally, is significantly impacted by people’s education and income level across different geographical areas.

While enterprises in Shanghai often have established well-presented website and integrate online advertising into their marketing strategy and public relations, you will find those from less developed areas have very narrow ideas about utilizing Google Adwords.

In my opinion China is a very interesting market for e-commerce: one peculiarity of Chinese E-commerce marked is that is trusted by government.

I read in an italian book about e-commerce in China (Alberto Giusti, Stefania Musso, E-Commerce in Cina, Marco Valerio Editore, Torino, 2006) a sentence by Jiang Zemin in the article, High tech confucian future in South China Morning Post, october 13th 1999:

“Jiang Zemin believes that e-commerce plays a key role for the development of Chinese economy”

In my opinion China will develop an independent marketing approach to e-commerce in a very short time.

Even if now most Chinese enterprises are just trying to copy the style of their western counterparts, the future of e-commerce in china and – I dare say -  in each country in the world will have a specific marketing approach and its own identity.

For this reason It will be very interesting to write about peculiar web e-commerce sites with a paradigmatic marketing approach: if you find some iteresting e-commerce site from China with a clear Chinese approach to e-commerce, can you write it in the comments of this article?
